Rose hoping for Tottenham playing chance

Danny Rose was delighted to be on the scoresheet for Tottenham in their friendly win at Bournemouth.

The midfielder cemented his place in club history with a wonder volley as we beat Arsenal at the Lane last season.

Rose's aim is now to prove that he's worth a place in the squad and his goal was a timely reminder for Harry Redknapp after he missed the final few games of last season with a knee injury.

"The physios gave me a strengthening programme for my knee throughout the summer and I've been working as much as I can in the off season," he told the Spurs website.

"I want to prove to the manager and the fans that I'm good enough to be part of his plans this season.

"You try and hit the ground running in pre-season. We all got 45 minutes at Bournemouth and I just wanted to impress the manager."
