Danny Rose says Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio is making a positive impact after defeat at Chelsea.

While the result didn't go the visitors' way, Rose says the squad have plenty to take from the game.

"The gaffer has been great; he's instilled a lot of confidence in the team," he told SAFC-TV. "I think that showed in the first half.

"We showed what we can do for 45 minutes of the game and hopefully we can produce that for the full 90 next Sunday."
