Wayne Rooney is coming around to the prospect of staying with Manchester United. The Mail on Sunday says Rooney is finally facing up to the fact that he will not be allowed to leave Manchester United to join Chelsea.
Though desperate to play for Jose Mourinho, Rooney has knuckled down to getting himself fit after missing United's pre-season games through injury.
The striker made his first appearance under David Moyes in last night's 4-1 win at Swansea.
"Wayne has been training very hard because he wants to get back into the side," said a United source.
"I think he has realised there was no way the club were going to sell him and he has just got on with doing what he does best. It won't be long before he is an automatic choice for the first team."
