Rooney missing for Fergie's final Man Utd game

Wayne Rooney will miss Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United farewell today at West Bromwich Albion. The Mirror says Rooney will miss the final game of Ferguson's Manchester United career today.

The England striker was left behind when the United squad headed south yesterday for the final game of the campaign at West Brom.

Rooney's wife Coleen, 27, is close to giving birth to their second child. After talks yesterday it was agreed between Ferguson and Rooney that the striker should stay with his wife this weekend. Family came first.

That decision saves any final humiliation by Fergie for his former attacking talisman.

Rooney was left out of the United team that faced Swansea last Sunday and there were no guarantees that he would be recalled at the Hawthorns.
