Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney missed the defeat at Norwich City due to tonsillitis.

United's medical team will assess the England international on Sunday, providing he is well enough to come into training.

"He's had tonsillitis," manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed to MUTV. "We hope he'll be in tomorrow - we'll see what he's like then.

"If he does [come in] hopefully we can get him ready for Tuesday."
