Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney was delighted with victory over Champions League opponents Real Sociedad.
United impressed, though only won 1-0 thanks to an own goal from Inigo Martinez.
Rooney said: "I thought we played some great football. We should have won the game three, four or five, but I'm happy we got the win, that's most important tonight.
"We defended well, a clean sheet is always pleasing. We created a lot of chances and on another day we will take them and win the game more comfortably."
Rooney celebrates his 28th birthday on Thursday and added: "I do (feel in my prime), I feel good, feel fit."
