Rooney insists he'll play anywhere for Man Utd boss Ferguson

Wayne Rooney is happy to play anywhere for Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

"I have played in a few different positions over the last few weeks," he said. "Sometimes you can't express yourself as much as you would like but you have to do a job for the team.

"For me it is easy to see the bigger picture. Maybe other players around the world don't want to put the work in.

"You never really see any of the top players running back and helping out like that. For me it is about the team. I have no problem with that.

"If we defend well it will help us win trophies. In the first-leg against Porto their left back got forward well so we had to try and limit his chances going forward. The tactic worked and we won the game. That is all that matters."

Part of Rooney's attitude comes from the knowledge that if he does not follow Ferguson's orders, he may find himself out of the team.

"I still have the enjoyment," said Rooney. "Football is the best sport in the world. Every day I am watching football or playing it.

"When I am not doing that I am playing computer games, United or England of course."
