Despite wanting a transfer away from Manchester United, Wayne Rooney has heaped praise on retiring manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The 27-year old striker is reportedly keen to depart Old Trafford this summer but regardless of the fact, was quick to salute Ferguson after he guided the club to a 20th league title this season.
"It is a fitting tribute to the manager after so long and so much success. As much as it is for the team, it's for the manager, for himself, what he has achieved and what he has done to this football club," he told MUTV at the trophy parade at Old Trafford on Monday.
"He deserves everything he has got.
"He has been brilliant for us all. He is a great manager he is successful and he is a winner. To do it for so long is incredible, he is a fantastic manager."
