Rooney goal enough for Man Utd

Wayne Rooney's first-time effort was enough to ensure maximum points from their two Group F games so far against a side they beat 7-1 at Old Trafford last season.

"I'm pleased because they're a good team, it was a good game and a good European night," Ferguson said on ITV1.

"A bit tactical at times but a good result for us."

Of Rooney's goal, Ferguson said: "Marvellous. Similar to the one he scored against AC Milan.

"Great passing and a great finish."

The United boss is not concerned about his side's recent trend of winning only 1-0.

He said: "Sometimes you go through these spells but it won't last forever.

"They're all working hard and showing far more experience this season."
