Wayne Rooney believes Everton secured a 'big point' after their 1-1 draw with Merseyside rivals, Liverpool.
The lifelong Evertonian scored the equaliser from the penalty spot in his first derby match since returning from Manchester United in the summer.
"It's a fantastic point for us," said Rooney.
"It's great to play the derby. It's great for the city. There's bragging rights at stake. I think today the Evertonians will be more happy than the Liverpudlians. It's a good point away from home and it's kept our run going that we've had over the past couple of weeks. It's a big point for us.
"It's always nice to score against Liverpool whoever you are playing for! I had to keep myself composed (for the penalty). I had a bit of time to compose myself and I knew where I was going. I practiced a penalty yesterday and thankfully I've caught it right."
