Rooney believes he can still deliver the goods for Man Utd

Wayne Rooney has stated that he is still capable of producing the goods for Manchester United from now until the end of the season.

Rooney has endured a very difficult campaign in 2016/17 but the attacker helped United to a 2-0 victory over Burnley last weekend by getting himself on the score sheet after a three-month scoring drought.

Now United face a very crucial period in their campaign as they battle it out for a top-four finish, as well as the Europa League title, and Rooney has insisted that he can play a big role in the Red Devils' hopes of fulfilling their aspirations for the season.

Rooney told Sky Sports: "I feel I can contribute quality, composure, experience, and know-how, how to get over the line, whether it's to win the league or finish top four or get to the final.

"That's a lot of experience I can contribute to the team.

"Of course it's good to be back. I want to be back playing, and hopefully between now and the end of the season and leave a mark on the games I play."

Rooney will be looking to play a key role for United in the Manchester derby against Man City at the Etihad Stadium tonight.
