Wayne Rooney is pushing to make Manchester United's squad for their Capital One Cup semifinal second-leg clash with Sunderland. The Mirror says Rooney went through a double session behind closed doors at United's HQ as he tries to get himself ready for boss David Moyes.
The 28-year-old is pushing his groin injury to the limit to see if he can get into the team which will try to turn round a 2-1 deficit and book a place - almost certainly against neighbours Manchester City - at Wembley on March 2.
