Everton star Wayne Rooney has asked manager Ronald Koeman to give him a spot in his starting eleven for the League Cup clash with Sunderland on Wednesday, according to the Daily Mail.

The former Manchester United forward has started every game for the Toffees this season, and his insistence on starting against the Black Cats has put Koeman in a selection dilemma.

The former England international has scored two goals for the Toffees this season.

Besides Rooney, Koeman is expected to make a decent number of changes to the starting eleven that lost 4-0 at Manchester United on the weekend.
