Rooney and Hernandez starting together for Man Utd

32 goals scored in tandem has been enough for Sir Alex Ferguson to start Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez for Manchester United's Champions League semi-final tonight.

The Red Devils take on German surprise packets FC Schalke at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen in the first leg of the final four clash and will deploy Rooney and Hernandez together with Dimitar Berbatov starting on the bench and Michael Owen missing out altogether.

Ferguson has also gone for Fabio at right-back with Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic in central defence and Patrice Evra on the left.

Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Ryan Giggs and Park Ji-sung make up the midfield for the match which kicks off at 7:45pm BST.
