Everton forward Wayne Rooney says he and his teammates have a lot more to offer following their labouring 1-0 win over MFK Ruzemberok on Thursday.

The match was their first competitive outing for the season, with it being the first-leg of their Europa League qualifying tie.

"It's still very early in our pre-season, it was a first 90 minutes for a lot of us, but we got the win and the clean sheet," he said.

"We know we can play better."

Everton will travel to Slovakia for the second-leg next Thursday.
