Ronaldo thrilled with Barcelona defeat: Real Madrid never in better position
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo knows his Portugal teammates did him a favour with Atletico Madrid's victory over Barcelona.
Ronaldo spent the week leading up to Atletico's game bombarding Tiago and Simao with texts urging them to stun Barca.
After the result, Ronaldo told Marca: "We're now in a better position than ever before. Now, we cannot let this slip. We must be totally focused for the Liga and also the Champions League."
Gonzalo Higuain added: "We have everything to play for."

let barca loose and madrid win the league.
If RM is still spending all its time hoping for another Barca stumble, it's clear Barca remains in the driver's seat. You don't see true champions spending all week texting friends on league rivals to ask for their help.
Despite an injury/suspension decimated lineup, a match resulting in two more first-team injuries, and several squandered chances, it still took the quality play of an Atletico team to defeat Barca on the road. If that's the only way RM sees hope, RM clearly lacks confidence in their own ability to win the league on their own merits.
