Ronaldo physio upbeat on AC Milan return

Crocked AC Milan striker Ronaldo's expected on-field return is now well ahead of schedule.

"I am the bearer of good news," smiled Bruno Mazziotti, Ronaldo's personal physio, on SportTV. "The results of the tests confirm Ronaldo's recovery is going well."

He suffered the devastating injury on February 13 during a 1-1 draw with Livorno and is back in Italy after the surgery in Paris.

"The healing process is at an advanced stage, just as we wanted. The whole team is asking if it is possible for Ronaldo to come back quicker than expected, but we cannot confirm or deny anything yet.

"The important thing is that the results of the tests seem to be very favourable, as the first 45 days after this kind of injury are the most critical.

"This is why we hope his comeback date can be put forward a little bit. Ronaldo is desperate to play football again."
