Former Real Madrid and AC Milan striker Ronaldo has declared he wants to join Manchester City.

Although the club have indicated a deal is far from certain, Ronaldo claims he has accepted a one-year contract and will arrive at the end of the year.

"The offer made to me by Manchester City is a good one and I would like to play with Robinho," he said in Brazil, where he has been recovering from surgery on the knee injury that ended his AC Milan career.

"We could score more than 50 goals. I need to rebuild my image in Europe."
