Manchester City could have signed Barcelona ace Ronaldinho in January, it has been revealed.

The Daily Mail says it has become known that Thaksin Shinawatra was alerted to the player's potential availability three months ago.

City executives entertained Ronaldinho's brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, last weekend at Eastlands.
