Roma captain Francesco Totti has sent a female Manchester United fan, injured in clashes with Italian police last season, a video message apologising for the violence that erupted in the Olympic Stadium.
There were two stabbings on Saturday night after Roma lost 4-1 at home to Inter Milan and many United fans have pledged not to travel to the Eternal City for their game there on December 12.
But 23-year-old Carly Lyes, who was caught on video being attacked by Italian police in April, will make the trip after a personal invite and an apology from Totti.
"We would like to invite you to the Olympic Stadium and treat you as our guest," said the Italy forward.
