Roma attacker Mauro Esposito could be on the brink of a move to Napoli.

Roma and Cagliari are in co-ownership for the Italy international and Rossoblu president Massimo Cellino said: "Mauro is an exceptional lad and asked me to let him wear the Napoli shirt as it is his dream.

"There have been other approaches as Roma called me about sending him on loan and Genoa have offered to buy our half.

"On the other hand, I would be happy to take him back, but he wants to go to Napoli and I have agreed to that as a favour to Mauro, even if Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino didn't behave well with Roberto De Zerbi, Nicolas Amodio and Inacio Pia."
