Romanov threatens to axe Hearts players for kids

The majority shareholder watched a youthful Hearts side overwhelm Kaunas' youngsters 4-1 on Sunday with goals from Ryan McGowan, Branimir Kostadinov, Gary Glen and Eddie Mearns.

However, 24 hours later, the more established first-team members lost to their Lithuanian counterparts.

The Edinburgh Evening News says Romanov was upset by the manner of defeat - the Tynecastle side's third reverse in three bounce games this year against their eastern European feeder team.

The club owner even threatened to dispatch Hearts' under-performing players to Lithuania if their performances do not improve.
