Roma won't rush Totti comeback

Roma won't rush Francesco Totti's recovery.

Totti is ahead of schedule after suffering a late season knee injury.

"It's important that Francesco gets back to kicking a ball because he needs to get his confidence back," physiotherapist Vito Scala said on Radio Kiss Kiss.

"Furthermore it is a good stimulus for him to recover as quickly as possible.

"Will he be back for the Super Cup? We are going to be cautious," Scala explained. "Totti suffered a serious injury. We won't be sending him out to play until he is totally healed.

"There will be lots of games to play over the course of the year. He is aiming to get back to action, but his body has to be respected."

It has been rumoured that Er Pupone will return to the national side under Marcello Lippi.

"Will he return to the Azzurri? You can never tell in football," Scala said. "He has postponed thinking about that because at the moment he is just trying to get back to fitness."
