Roma management have no alternative target lined up if Fiorentina refuse to do business over Adrian Mutu.

Fiorentina officially rejected Roma's offer yesterday for the Romania international, but Corriere dello Sport says the capital club remain hopeful a deal can be struck.

The key to any agreement is Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli, who made a personal intervention to stop the move in the afternoon. If he can be persuaded, then Roma will get their man.
