Italian club AS Roma has warned any potential suitors not to pursue their star midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

The 26-year old Italy international has been linked with big-money moves to Real Madrid and Manchester City in recent times but Roma technical director Bruno Conti has issued a hands off warning, saying the player is not for sale.

"De Rossi is not for sale," he said.

"In no eventual strategy in our market do we predict his possible sale."
