Roma are closing in on a deal for Udinese striker Fabio Quagliarella.

Juventus are regarded as favourites for the Italy centre-forward, but Roma hope a new strategy will give them an advantage.

Il Messaggero says Roma are opening new contract talks with midfielder Simone Perrotta, whose agent, Beppe Bozzo, also has Quagliarella on his books.

Roma will use negotiations to also discuss Quagliarella's situation.
