Roma are urging Chelsea to wait to sign Kostas Manolas.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has requested the Greece defender's signing and talks have been held.
TMW says Roma are willing to sell, but the sell-on clause in Manolas' contract is proving a stumbling block.
Manolas' former club Olympiakos are due 50 per cent of any fee generated from his sale this summer - though that slice will be reduced come January.
And Roma have urged Chelsea to wait until the winter transfer window to do business over the stopper.
However, Conte is insistent on a deal being struck now.
