Roma striker Stephan El Shaarawy is determined to fight back.

El Shaarawy has managed just one full 90 this season.

“In terms of feeling and fitness it's very positive," El Shaarawy said.

“At the start the boss [Luciano Spalletti] has made other choices, but at this level it's normal that there will be competition and I'm calm.

“I'm training well and continuing to show what I can do and win a starting spot. I need to be more effective when in the opponents' last third.

“Then I also need to improve my left foot.

“I think for any player confidence and consistency is crucial. It's clear that it can be difficult to come into a match which is already underway, but the boss' choices should be respected.

“The important thing for me is to be engaged, train well and give the Coach a headache.

“Even now the boss is happy with the way I've come in, and tomorrow I hope I can take my opportunity."
