Roma skipper Totti: Sport, not school, my passion

Roma captain Francesco Totti says he was never the bookish type.

"It would have been difficult for me to go to university," Totti explained. "I have always said that if I had not made it as a footballer, I would have chosen a job for which I didn't need a degree.

"Anyway, sport has always impassioned me, therefore I would be interested in a course in sports science.

"In general, I have always found humanities, history and literature come to me easier. I have a lot of difficulty with scientific studies like maths.

"The relationship I had with my teachers was always good," Totti said. "There was always respect on my part.

"I like to cultivate other interests, but it is too soon to say what I will do well in. I now see myself more and more in the world of football, hopefully as a director figure."

Totti then revealed what he likes to do in his spare time and spoke of his wife, the Italian showgirl, Ilary Blasi.

"I like the cinema a lot. Watching a film on a big screen is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to spend an evening.

"My wife's profession has undoubtedly changed my relationship with the television. I watch it more and happily assist Ilary with her transmissions."
