Roma captain Francesco Totti has sympathy for Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli over the ugly chants aimed against him. Totti admits Balotelli's personality does invite controversy.

But he adds: "He's the subject of bad stories and certainly with his attitude he's a bit arrogant and does influence people not to love him. But this does not justify the chants against him.

"But these are things that happen to many players, on Sunday I played in Bergamo and I was insulted the whole game ..."

On the championship, Totti added: "Only Inter can lose the championship, they're the strongest team."
