Adriano is determined to win over his doubters at AS Roma.

The Brazilian joined Roma on a free transfer earlier this summer just over a year after he rescinded his contract with Inter on account of depression and alcoholism.

"For me, Roma represent a lot," Adriano said. "I know that I have done things that weren't so great and that I mustn't repeat them, but I am here to forget the bad times.

"I have the desire to show that I am still a great player. I must work and show my worth on the pitch. I feel happy. I have made the right choice and I want to win quickly.

"Totti, Vucinic and I can play together but it will be necessary to suffer more. It will not be enough just to attack, we'll have to help the team to defend.

"Winning takes more than champions. You need a team and Roma has one.

"Roma are a great team who can be competitive both in Serie A and in the Champions League."
