Roma to sign Perth Glory's De Silva

Italian club AS Roma have agreed to sign Danny De Silva from Perth Glory at the end of the next A-League season.

The Giallorossi have secured the right to sign the 17-year old attacking midfielder once the 2014/15 campaign is completed after both clubs agree terms on Friday afternoon.

"This is a great opportunity for Daniel and is a clear indication of the talent that he has," said Glory CEO Jason Brewer.

"To have Daniel remain with Perth Glory for the upcoming 2014/15 Hyundai A-League season, is also a great result for the Club and I hope that our fans will get the opportunity to see him in plenty of action this year.

"This is also an important season for Daniel, who will be looking to establish himself in the Perth Glory team and will also want to impress ahead of the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand next year. To start the season with this all now finalised is fantastic news."

Australia U20 international De Silva became the Glory's youngest ever professional player when signing a contract in February 2013 and has gone on to play 14 times in the A-League for the Western Australian club.

He has previously played for the Australian U17 side as well as representing the U20s at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey.
