AS Roma have signed permanently Fluminense winger Marquinho.

The young Brazilian joins Roma for €3.5 million, having spent part of last season on-loan from Flu.

A Roma statement read: "AS Roma S.p.A announces that it has exercised the option to purchase outright the registration of the player Marco Antonio De Mattos Filho (Marquinho), with the recognition in favour of FC Fluminense a fee of €3.5m.

"The first instalment, amounting to €2m, will be paid by July 10, 2012 and the second, of €1.5m, by no later than July 10, 2013. With the player, the club has signed a contract until June 30, 2016."
