AS Roma have set Manchester City a deadline to sign Mehdi Benatia.
The Daily Star says the Premier League champions have agreed a deal in principle for the Roma defender but are stalling because they prefer Porto's Eliaquim Mangala.
However, they are still waiting on Mangala to decide his future as Chelsea and Manchester United have also expressed an interest.
The delay has angered Serie A giants Roma and they have now informed City to complete the deal for Benatia by July 21 or they will pull the plug.
The 27-year-old Moroccan also has to finalise personal terms over his possible move to England.
