AS Roma manager Rudi Garcia has played down suggestions that Kevin Strootman is set to sign with Manchester United.
The 24-year old Dutch midfielder has been heavily linked with a £30million shift to Old Trafford in the current transfer window but Garcia has shot down those claims by saying the player is happy in Rome.
"Strootman is a Roma player, he will be a Roma player this year. There is no doubt about that," said Garcia.
"Only he can say whether he wants to stay but it was never an issue for him to go to another club. There is no question of it."
Strootman, who missed the recent World Cup because of injury, joined Roma from PSV Eindhoven in July 2013 and made 29 appearances for the Giallorossi last term, scoring six goals in all competitions.
