Franco Baldini is closer to making the move to Tottenham.

The AS Roma GM is expected to move to Spurs in the coming days to fill their newly-created technical director's post.

Tuttosport says Baldini could be axed by Roma's board after being blamed for their poor start to the season. Baldini's signings, it is suggested, simply do not fit into coach Zdenek Zeman's playing system.
