Roma president Sensi pens open letter to fans

AS Roma president Rosella Sensi has penned an open letter to fans on the eve of the new season.

Rosella is expected to step down from her position once the club is sold.

But in her letter to supporters, Rosella opined: "Looking ahead to the Italian Super Cup, Serie A and the Champions League, we need to give answers, multiplying our efforts and showing the capacity to overcome the envy that comes from all sides in football.

"Roma are strong and competitive. But we must take into account that the competition is more motivated than ever on account of new opponents who will try and bring a degree of balance and novelty to the championship.

"The atmosphere surrounding our players' work will be decisive and for this reason I ask the media and our fans to do their part, as they have always done.

"I always answered for Roma in the first person. Our team will be a winning one again both on and off the pitch.

"As for the rest it's the politics that Franco Sensi knew how to transmit to everyone: in work there are no half measures. Whoever doesn't contribute to the cause will be excluded."
