Roma president James Pallotta has let slip a deal is in place for Real Madrid defender Nacho.

The two clubs have been thrashing out terms for Nacho over the past fortnight and his shirt was withdrawn from the club shop on Friday.

Talking about new signing Juan Jesus, formerly of Inter Milan, Palotta revealed: "Nacho and Juan Jesus are two defenders with experience who will help us a lot."

Nacho is currently in Montreal with Real's tour squad. However, he could soon be back on a plane destined for Rome.

The defender's agent, Jose Segui, is due to meet with Real officials today to finalise the transfer.
