AS Roma midfielder Ricardo Faty has declared he wants to sign for Blackburn Rovers.
The 23-year-old midfielder begins a trial with Sam Allardyce's Rovers today after making just eight Serie A appearances last season.
Paris-born Faty joined Roma from Strasbourg in 2006, but has since been loaned out to Bayer Leverkusen and Nantes and could now make a cut-price £1m switch to Ewood Park.
He said: "Right now Blackburn are my best option. I would have loved to join a club in France but the opportunity has not come up. I could stay with Roma for another two years. However I'm 23 now, and I need first-team football."
