AS Roma captain Francesco Totti says they played like champions after victory over Udinese.
The captain bagged a brace in the heart-stopping 2-1 victory away to Udinese this evening, putting them within three points of fourth place.
"It was above all important for the three points tonight," said Totti. "It was a victory against a side that would not give in, but we reacted strongly and it's crucial for this season.
"Our enthusiasm is sky high and we proved with this result that we are worthy of the Champions League. We'll fight to the end for this prize."
He took a gamble when opening the scoring by taking the penalty with a cheeky chip.
"In crucial moments the big players come out. I wanted to prove I wasn't finished. I can do everything and I'm happy for the entire team, as we always proved we wanted to win.
"Physically I'm in great shape, better than I was when aged 20. I wanted to react to all the criticism I received, as those hurt. This is how champions react. This is how Roma answer our critics."
