AS Roma GM Franco Baldini admits defeat in the Coppa Italia final condemns their season to mediocrity.
Roma fell 1-0 to Lazio last night.
"It was the game we expected, as it was always going to be tense with so much at stake and neither side expressed their best football," said Baldini.
"An incident was always going to be decisive and luck smiled on Lazio. There's nothing to say, the field gave the response and we accept that verdict, but the team gave everything they had.
"In terms of performance it wasn't great, but the tension made it locked down and anxious on all sides. We tried to create our chances, as did they, and I am not disappointed with the way we played in the circumstances.
"The season achieved much less than we expected. We wanted more in terms of the Serie A table too and it has not been a satisfying campaign, as the Coppa Italia would've changed that. Of course, we certainly can't consider it positive."
