Former Udinese fullback Marco Motta is delighted with his move to Roma.

"I knew of Roma's interest in the last week of the January transfer window, it was Thursday," he said. "I was going through a strange time at Udinese. I felt proud, enthusiastic, but it's very easy to deceive yourself in certain situations.

"Only when the deal reached its conclusion was I able to celebrate. And now I am here," he enthused.

When asked how he felt on making his debut for Roma against Genoa on February 8, Motta replied: "In life everyone has a well defined role.

"For me, it happened to be on the football field. There you measure yourself against an opponent," he explained.

"There on the field, I have always looked to give my best and repay the faith that a lot of people have put in me."
