Roma following Portsmouth's Kranjcar

Portsmouth midfielder Niko Kranjcar is reportedly attracting the attention of Roma after an impressive campaign for the South Coast club.

Kranjcar's eye-catching displays helped Portsmouth to FA Cup glory as well as eighth place in the Premiership, a run of form that he has continued in Austria and Switzerland as Croatia secured their progression to the knock-out phase of Euro 2008.

With Amantino Mancini and Ludovic Guily set to leave the Stadio Olimpico in the coming weeks, Luciano Spalletti is reportedly scouring Europe for wide players as he looks to strengthen his squad ready for the new season.

Should Roma lodge a bid with Pompey, they are likely to face competition from Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger who has been tracking the 23-year olds progress with a view to making a £15 million move this summer.
