Lukas Podolski appears to be closer to a move to Roma despite Juventus still expressing interest in the Bayern Munich forward.

Podolski is out-of-favour at Bayern and his refusal to commit to the club has been backed with his favourable words for Roma.

Speaking to Il Giornale, Podolski said: "I have heard that Roma are interested in me, but I have had no contact with the Giallorossi.

"Francesco Totti is a great player and he showed incredible strength to come back for the 2006 World Cup after his injury.

"It really wouldn't be bad to play alongside Totti. An adventure in Italy would be nice and Luca Toni has always told me I would do well there and improve as a player."
