Roma sports chief Daniele Prade expects Cristian Chivu to begin preseason training with the club.

It's emerged that talks between Prade and Chivu's agents broke down yesterday over a proposed move to Inter Milan.

Prade is upset with the behaviour of Victor and Giovanni Becali, who have insisted their client will only consider a move to Inter after rejecting offers from Real Madrid and Barcelona last week.

Even if it means Chivu leaving for nothing next summer, Prade is now prepared to hang onto Chivu for the final 12 months of his Roma deal.
