Italian club AS Roma are hoping to sign Radamel Falcao from Monaco this summer.
The Daily Mirror reports that the Colombian striker has been told he is not wanted by loan club Chelsea and will leave at the end of the season.
Roma are keen on the 30-year-old but do not want to pay his £100,000-a-week wages so have entered discussions with the French club and Falcao's representatives in a bid to get a deal done.
Falcao was hoping to remain at Stamford Bridge and work with new manager Antonio Conte but it appears as though his time in West London is up and he now prepares to head to Serie A after a pair of horror seasons in the Premier League with Manchester United and the Blues.
