Roma defender Mexes shrugs off AC Milan interest

Roma defender Philippe Mexes has played down interest from AC Milan.

"I am happy with Milan's interest but I have a contract and no intention to go anywhere," said the 25-year-old.

"All the Romans want me and my contract is with the Giallorossi. At the moment I am happy here and we will continue together."

Asked about his £11 million buyout clause, Mexes added: "This is a normal clause. I had it in my contract before the renewal, it's an insurance that I do not wish to use.

"I know what I want. I will stay at the Olimpico because I extended my contract 12 months ago and I feel really good here."
