Roma defender Burdisso ruled out seven months after knee op

AS Roma defender Nicolas Burdisso faces seven months out after undergoing knee surgery yesterday.

The defender snapped knee ligaments during Argentina's World Cup qualifier against Colombia on Tuesday night.

"The operation went very well and we are satisfied, seeing as this was a complex injury," revealed Professor Giuliano Cerulli.

"There was a lesion to the ligament and also the bone. The recovery time in these cases is around six to seven months, but the player's desire to return could close that gap.

"Burdisso's rehabilitation will be in Rome."
