AS Roma are ready to bid for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.

The Mirror says Roma believe they have a chance of landing Cech - despite Jose Mourinho's insistence that there is "no chance" he will be sold.

The Premier League joint-leaders confirmed yesterday that they have allowed 42-year-old Mark Schwarzer to leave for Leicester on an 18-month permanent deal.

Cech, Chelsea's first choice for over a decade, has publicly admitted to being frustrated at sitting on the bench with young Belgian Thibaut Courtois now ahead of him in the pecking order.

Roma reckon they have a chance of taking the Czech Republic star to Serie A because the Blues would prefer not to release the veteran to a rival Premier League club.
