AS Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi has cooled talk of a move to Manchester City.
De Rossi is being linked with City as he is now inside the final year of his current deal.
"You journalists come up with something new everyday," the 2006 World Cup winner told Sky Sport Italia.
"One day I'm close to a renewal, one day I've turned down who knows what offer, one day I accept another. There really isn't a need to say anything.
"It's an important situation, there are a lot of people who are waiting for an outcome and we have to do what is right, but I'm totally calm.
"Every day I read false information, absurd stories and mad figures that have no place in the air or on the ground.
"When there is something concrete to talk about then I will.
"Am I liked by Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini? You'd have to ask him. I have spoken to nobody nor heard from anybody."
